They issued two singles – "Out There Somewhere"/"S.S.D. There is none of the outward vitriol on that is on their other albums." Ryan's lyrics are sweeter and more optimistic here than in previous recordings. Lucinda Gardiner of Oz Music Project described it as "an unashamedly pop album that deserves more recognition then it will probably get. It reached number 12 on the ARIA Australasian Artists Albums chart. Ryan had collaborated with outside writers including Mark Seymour (of Hunters and Collectors) on "Cold" and Paul Andrews of Lazy Susan on "Paleface" and "Beautiful Boys". 2003–2005: Self-titled album to disbandment Īfter a hiatus of two years the group reconvened to release their third studio album, Stella One Eleven, on 6 October 2003. In October 2001 the group were guest programmers on rage. The band wrote the theme song for National Youth Week in Australia and were appointed official Youth Week ambassadors for 2000. The album reached No. 13 on Alternative Albums Chart. It generated a top 40 single, "Go Slow Girl" (July 2001), on the ARIA Singles Chart, which was placed on high rotation by national youth radio station, Triple J. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2001 In Your Hands was nominated for Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album. The line-up was Hayes, Maynard and Ryan with Brian Cachia on drums and Sam Carter (ex-Dogbouy) on guitar. Stella One Eleven released their second album, In Your Hands, on Wow Records in late 2000. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2000, "Only Good for Conversation", was nominated for Best Independent Release. Īdditional singles issued from the album are "Mr Big Car" (June 1999), "Only Good for Conversation" (September) and "She Lies" (December). Most of the album's tracks were co-produced by Maynard with Tim Powles (of the Church) two tracks were produced solely by Maynard. The group's line-up was Bowden Campbell (ex-Front End Loader) on guitar, Pat Hayes (ex- Falling Joys) on bass guitar and backing vocals, Genevieve Maynard (ex- Bughouse) on guitar and backing vocals, Ryan on lead vocals and guitar, and Raphael Wittingham (ex-Clouds, Golden Rough) on drums. Stella One Eleven's debut single, "Hard", appeared in 1998 and was followed by their first album, Mr Big Car, in 1999 on Candle Records. While working with her session musicians, Ryan decided to form a pop rock band with them instead. Stella One Eleven were formed in September 1997 in Sydney when singer-songwriter Cindy Ryan went into a studio to record her debut solo album. History 1997–2002: Formation, Mr Big Car and In Your Hands The group had disbanded by October 2005 with the members undertaking solo projects. At the previous year's ceremony their single, "Only Good for Conversation" (September 1999), was nominated for Best Independent Release. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2001 they were nominated for Best Independent Release and Best Adult Contemporary Album for In Your Hands. Three of the band's singles, "Go Slow Girl" (July 2001), "Out There Somewhere"/"S.S.D." (October 2003) and "She" (March 2004), reached the top 40 on the ARIA Singles Chart. They released three studio albums, Mr Big Car (1999), In Your Hands (2000) and Stella One Eleven (October 2003). They mix up hexagonal, colored wheels, and then you put them back in order. The game methodology is fairly straightforward. Overall with a bit of polish this game could become a very great puzzler, but i'd find it hard to reccomend it in it's current state unless you like this style of puzzler But you still receive a lower star rating at the end of the level, which is still kinda disheartening Otherwise so far i think that feature is just personal prefrence and the puzzels are still able to be done without rushing or worrying about move counters. I've never really been a fan of timed/move counters on puzzels like this, especially when being judged on both at once.I prefer to think about every move, so if you're looking for a calming puzzler this may not appeal to you either. The puzzles also feel a little large and in your face which combined with the very intense fluro colours everywhere become a strain on the eyes. The large interface and menus can be a little clunky, giving it a smartphone port feel (Is it?), Menu icons can sometimes be unclear without text and i can imagine some people deleting their saves out of curiostiy due to the vage textless settings. None of the trailers or gameplay videos i could find showed this feature so be warned that it can not be turned off without having no volume at all, which is sad because the game music is really charming but is ruined by this. The losing challenge audio for failed timetrial/move count and the victory vocals audio are very loud compared to the game audio and very jarring especially since they never stop until you go to the next level, which stops them awkwardly with an instant cut. The music is nice and calming and the gameplay is good but so far i've got some gripes with some of the game audio and interface. Now includes color blind mode for added accessibilityįirstly I’ll say that so far I’m enjoying the game, it’s a great concept with a pseudo rubix cube feel where you rotate hexagon clusters to form set colour patterns by setting mixed colours into the correct position based on what colours are mixed.Calmly tackle 48 lovingly hand crafted puzzles in your own time or test your wit and speed in the new Challenge Mode.Challenging puzzles that can be difficult to master.Breathtakingly beautiful music by award winning indie folk musician Svavar Knutur.Clean essentialistic style and design aesthetics.Old-school rotational chromatic combination mechanism. A hauntingly beautiful soundtrack from award winning indie folk musician Svavar Knutur reinforces the stoic atmosphere of contemplation and mental challenge presented by the deceptively simple looking puzzles. Prismatica's aesthetic design and feel is intended to be calm and essentialist, presenting the player with a pure puzzle to focus on solving in a flowing natural way. It’s easy to learn and simple to play but surprisingly deep and difficult to master at later levels, presenting even the most veteran of puzzle enthusiasts with brain-tickling challenge. The goal is to unscramble a series of puzzle boards by rotating multicolored pieces to match a logical pattern. About This Game Prismatica is a puzzle game with a brand new twist, inspired by Rubik’s Cubes, Sudoku, Dodecahedrons and way, way too much caffeine. How to recover files deleted by mistake from micro sd card on computer - recommended (100% safe).Recover Files from SD Recent Deleted Album (Free).Using this value it is possible to differentiate between absence of any data, possible photo data and encrypted data. JpegDigger calculates an entropy value for the data on the SD Card. Typically photo recovery software will report ‘no files found’ or ‘no data found’. Card may be entirely empty depending on what happened to the data.ĭepending on the specific smart phone there are circumstances that may wipe all data from the SD memory card. I very often receive such files for my JPEG Repair Service, nothing I can do to repair those. A common issue people encounter is photo recovery or generic undelete tools either put up a message stating no files are detected (entire volume is encrypted) -or- files can actually be recovered however it is impossible to view them (file content encrypted). These encrypted files can not be recovered. If you want to scan for deleted files only, check the ‘Only free space’ option.Īndroid phones can encrypt files on the memory card!Įncryption can be per volume or individual files.Select a maximum file size and minimum resolution, normally defaults are okay. Now you can now proceed as if you were scanning any drive using JpegDigger: To recover data from the SD or Micro SD card, remove the card from the phone and insert in a card reader connected to a PC. Also, full recovery may only be achieved if the Android device it ‘rooted’. Drawback of the method is that the software will be stored on the same memory you want to recover from and may potentially overwrite the deleted data. For example DiskDigger (Can be found in Google Play Store). Use Android software that runs from the device itself.AFAIK the phone needs to be ‘rooted’ for this to work. Alternatively use software that is able to access the Android device in MPT mode. So, idea is to get the Phone a drive letter assigned in Windows Explorer. Or, Settings > More > USB utilities > Connect Storage to PC. On even older Android versions try: Menu > Setting > Applications > Development > USB debugging. Now Developer Options will be visible in settings list where you can enable USB debugging > OK.Go to “Build Number” at the end of the Scroll list.A dialog will pop up when you connect the phone to a PC using a USB cable allowing you to select this mode. If you have an older Android version (pre 4.2) find the option to enable ‘USB Mass Storage Device’ mode. Unfortunately this mode is longer available in modern Android versions. You can only do this from Windows and using JpegDigger if the phone can present itself as a ‘mass storage device’. Recovering photos from internal memory Using a Windows PC Entropy map which allows you tell if media contains data and data encryption.Attempts to put together non contiguous JPEGs. JpegDigger offers some features not found in other software like: We’ll describe how you can use JpegDigger to attempt photo recovery. In this post we’ll look into what’s possible and what’s not. Photos can be on:Īlthough many want you to believe it is easy to recover the lost or deleted photos and success is guaranteed, it often isn’t. Consequentially many lost photos will be on Android devices. Probably Android phones are the most common devices to take photos with nowadays often stored on a Micro SD Card. Within each button size option (how many buttons per screen), there are options for more basic boards or more sophisticated ones.Pre-programmed boards are specifically designed for certain ages or populations, including a set for adolescents who are often overlooked in the AAC world.Created by a company that makes dedicated AAC devices as well as communication apps so it’s easy to transition from app to a more durable device.Plus, since the app is provided by a company that sells full AAC devices, you always have access to a local rep who can tell you all about the dedicated AAC devices if you decide that your child would benefit from having his own AAC device. The website for Touch Chat contains tons of support and resources including Webinars and Trainings. Fortunately, these can be turned off for your little ones. I found these troublesome with some of my younger children because they would accidentally do the gesture while trying to push a button and it would change pages. There are also features that can be used to allow the child to change pages quickly using gestures. When she’s ready, the buttons can easily be added back on. This is great for a kiddo who is just starting out and needs help guiding her attention to the target button. Once you choose a board, the boards themselves are also easy to customize and you can easily hide as many buttons as you need to. This allows for you to customize the device to the individual child with the push of a button. However, the basic version of this doesn’t allow buttons to change as much and includes more pictures/symbols on buttons instead of plain text. This cuts down on navigation time significantly. The more sophisticated option changes certain words on the screen when one button is pushed, allowing the device to predict what you may be trying to say. I personally use the 42 Position option the most often and I love that there is a basic version and a more sophisticated version of the same 42-button layout. These boards range from 20 buttons per page up through 80 buttons per page, allowing the child to have access to as many buttons as his motor skills will allow. The “Word Power” boards are much more sophisticated and allow for more language development and growth. Saltillo used research conducted in adolescent homes about the types of vocabulary that these children want to use. There are even specific boards for adolescents that has bigger buttons for those who aren’t ready for the more sophisticated boards, but who need more sophisticated language than a preschooler would need. You can start with very simple boards that were designed for young children with developmental delays or move up to a more sophisticated device. When you open the app, you have the option to choose from many different pre-programmed boards that are specifically designed for different populations. Why is that a good thing? Well, you know that they’ve spent tons of time and money on research and development of their software and if you try the app and find you like it, you can easily transition to a dedicated device that will last you longer and is often covered by insurance companies. That means, this same software comes installed on their durable devices that are designed to be used specifically as an AAC device and nothing else. This app was created by Saltillo which is a company that makes dedicated AAC devices as well as communication apps. Here are some of the most common AAC Apps available today: For that reason, many of the AAC companies have created AAC apps that can be downloaded and used on tablets, phones, and other devices for a fraction of the price. Purchasing a dedicated AAC device can be expensive and going through insurance can take a long time. These devices are sometimes called “communication devices” or “talkers”.įor more information on teaching a child to use an AAC System or Device, click here! This includes some children with conditions such as autism, childhood apraxia of speech, and other types of speech/language delays. These are helpful for children or adults who have either lost the ability to speak or who are not able to speak well enough to clearly communicate everything that they want to say. There are many different types of AAC but the most common are high-tech AAC Devices that allow a person to push a button to speak a message. AAC apps are augmentative/alternative communication programs that allow a person to communicate with those around them without speaking. “So they told me, ‘No, no, no, we can’t use that word we’re going to call you a psychic.’ I said, ‘But I’m not a psychic!’ … They would take me somewhere to do an interview, and as soon as I’d say, ‘I’m not a psychic, and I don’t own the company,’ the handlers would say, ‘No, no, no. But the hotline marketers thought “voodoo” sounded scary. “I come from a family of Obeah - which is another word for voodoo,” she told Vice. My mother was very deliberate about that, and so was my father,” she said.Īnd, in case you hadn’t figured this one out, Miss Cleo wasn’t really psychic. “When you grow up in America and you’re Caribbean, your parents beat it into you that the only way to succeed is by dropping the patois. She also told Vice that her patois was indeed put on - but it did have family roots. “I didn’t own the company.”Īnd the hundreds of millions of dollars PRN raked in? Harris said she had “a bad contract” and made a fraction of the money that her likeness brought in. “I never went to jail,” she told Vice in 2014, to clear the record. For years afterward, people pinned the fraud on her, and even claimed she served prison time for it. While Miss Cleo was never alleged to be the mastermind of the enterprise, she was undeniably its embodiment. PRN agreed to forgive $500 million in outstanding charges and paid $5 million in fines to the FTC. “I’m no psychic, but I can foresee this: If you make deceptive claims, there is an FTC action in your future,” he said when it settled.īut the lawsuit was no joke. “You don’t need a crystal ball to know that the FTC will continue to stop unfair and deceptive trade practices,” he said when the complaint was announced. Howard Beales III, then the director of the Bureau of Consumer Protection at the FTC, clearly enjoyed the press releases. The company also bullied people into paying charges they weren’t legally obligated to pay. The Federal Trade Commission filed a complaint against The Psychic Readers Network, the company behind the “Miss Cleo” hotline, for telling viewers they would get a “free” reading and then charging them. If a free session with a psychic who can answer all your questions sounds too good to be true, it was. Then she appeared on TV screens as the tarot-reading Miss Cleo, promising a no-cost first reading. She “left town with a trail of debts and broken promises,” the paper wrote, after failing to pay the cast and crew who worked on plays she put on. In one of the plays she wrote and produced, Harris played a Jamaican character - named Cleo. Miss Cleo, aka Youree Dell Harris, aka Rae Dell Harris or Cleomili Perris Youree or Ree Perris, was a cult icon.īefore she was Miss Cleo, Harris was a Los Angeles-born playwright and actress.Īs “Ree Perris,” she was working in Seattle in the mid-’90s, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer revealed in 2002. “Call me today,” she’d intone, with a broad smile and a Jamaican patois of dubious authenticity. “The cards never lie,” she’d say, to questioning souls she called “darling” or “baby” or “honey.” What should I be doing? Which person should I be with? Is my life on the right path? Who’s the father? In late-night commercials in the late ’90s and early 2000s, she promised answers to all life’s most pressing questions. “Miss Cleo,” the television psychic indelibly fixed in the memories of ’90s TV-watchers, died Tuesday in Palm Beach, Fla., of cancer. This movie has a great combo of horror, comedy and action and is a very good B movie. This one runs a little long, but it has another great set of scenes as our hero battles the villain through several worlds. Then it wraps up with the longest of the stories one in a medieval era with a crazed psycho trying to take power through strange means. A lot of horror fans have seen it, but Ive found there are a surprising amount who havent or, at least, who havent seen it in. Try to ignore the gnawing fear in your gut, the feeling of impending disaster that threatens to overwhelm you. PARTING SHOT: WAXWORK is just a blast from start to finish. This week the team travels to one of the wo. They first enter a sort of Frankenstien story and this one is pretty good, then they separate and the female goes into an Alien type movie, which I found to be sort of weak, but the guy goes into the highlight for me, an old haunted house tale with a very funny Bruce Campbell. Fear, dread and eerie doppelgangers await the Most Haunted team in a house of wax as they journey to the capital. The player and his twin brother Alex, aged eight, are playing in the vast majority of mine tunnels underneath the town of Vista Forge when he suddenly goes missing. WaxWorksis a dungeon-crawler action-RPG video game developed by Adventure Soft, named Horror Soft at the time, and published by Accolade. This movie follows a guy and gal through their adventures in a realm where good is constantly fighting evil and it seems to take the form of old horror movies for the most part. Our aim is to provide such a general result also for the Moore property. One of the most general versions of the Myhill property was considered by Li in where he proves that every expansive action of an amenable group on a compact metrizable space having the weak specification property satisfies the Myhill property. It did not take long for the Garden of Eden theorem to be considered for many other dynamical systems (see e.g. This result was generalized to all amenable groups in and later also for certain subshifts of amenable groups (see ). A dynamical system for which this equivalence holds is said to satisfy the Garden of Eden theorem. Is pre-injective, respectively conversely every such pre-injective map is surjective (we shall define pre-injectivity later). , Moore in, respectively Myhill in, proved that every continuous surjective G-equivariant map One of those is the Garden of Eden theorem. These are the objects of study of symbolic dynamics, whose many results and notions have inspired and have been generalized to more general dynamical systems. Such a topological dynamical system is called a (topological) shift and any of its (topologically) closed G-invariant subsets are called subshifts. , with the product topology, is a compact topological space on which G naturally acts by homeomorphisms. If it has additionally the weak specification property, the set of such points is dense. We show that every expansive action of such a group having a certain Markov topological property, again implied by the pseudo-orbit tracing property, has a weakly periodic point. Second, we generalize the recent result of Cohen that any subshift of finite type of a finitely generated group having at least two ends has weakly periodic points. We hint how to easily generalize this result even for uncountable amenable groups and general compact, not necessarily metrizable, spaces. This together with an earlier result of Li (where the strong topological Markov property is not needed) of the Myhill property, which we also re-prove here, establishes the Garden of Eden theorem for all expansive actions of countable amenable groups on compact metrizable spaces satisfying the weak specification and strong topological Markov properties. First we show that any expansive action of a countable amenable group on a compact metrizable space satisfying the weak specification and strong topological Markov properties satisfies the Moore property, that is, every surjective endomorphism of such dynamical system is pre-injective. L.We present several applications of the weak specification property and certain topological Markov properties, recently introduced by Barbieri, García-Ramos, and Li, and implied by the pseudo-orbit tracing property, for general expansive group actions on compact spaces.
